Panuku, along with the New Zealand Green Building Council, has been working toward some Green Star

- Communities ratings in two of our neighbourhoods: Henderson and Takapuna.

Green Star ratings are an internationally recognised set of standards for creating low-carbon and climate resilient buildings, constructed with ecologically sustainable best practice standards. The independent reviewers address four different areas of development: Communities, Design, Interiors and Performance. While Panuku has previously engaged with the Green Star rating process for individual buildings, we are now receiving a first-of-its-kind assessment for two entire communities.

Our Henderson and Takapuna locations will be the first communities to get formal project ratings in New Zealand, but also the first to get this type of volume certification in the entire world!

They’re well on their way now and shaping up toward a fairly impressive outcome. We sat down with Tessa Meyer from our corporate responsibility team to learn more.
