The report shows that focus and investment into climate action has proven resilient despite the challenging economic environment. The Climate Leader’s Coalition was launched in July 2018 with a mission of having business chief executives lead the response to climate action through collective, transparent, and meaningful action on mitigation and adaptation. Coalition signatories employ more than 210,000 people and represent 34% of GDP.

Eke Panuku is proud to be part of the Climate Leader’s Coalition. The Snapshot showed Eke Panuku has achieved 7 of our 8 pledged commitments. Our 8th commitment of assessing and disclosing climate change risk is in progress, with a collective disclosure for the council group to be published as part of the annual report.

A key part of our commitment is measuring, managing and reporting on our organisational carbon emissions. As an organisation we are also working with staff to support them to reduce their carbon footprints as well as promoting low carbon urban regeneration. A focus area for us is to embed carbon impacts into our decision-making processes, to ensure that decisions align with our climate goals and commitments.

The report is the key transparency tool for the Coalition to demonstrate the individual and collective progress by signatories to deliver on the Statement of Ambition. A key part of being in the Coalition is members holding each other to account on delivery of pledged commitments and working together to share learnings.

“Eke Panuku joined the CLC in 2018 as a way to demonstrate our commitment to climate action and to connect with and share learnings with other businesses taking action. We value the momentum created by the CLC through ever increasing membership commitments and that we can hold each other to account.” - David Rankin.
