Exciting news Avondale! A new nature play space has just opened at Avondale Central Reserve - and it’s packed with playful possibilities for our tamariki!

Tucked in right beside the basketball court and learn-to-ride area, this addition is a mini adventure zone designed to ignite imagination and get kids moving.
Whether they’re balancing on the low beam, hopping across wooden stepping blocks, calling to each other through the talking tubes, or creating a tune on the bright, flower-shaped musical toy - there’s fun at every turn.

It’s a hands-on, feet-off-the-ground kind of place where play meets nature, and tamariki can let their creativity run wild in a safe, engaging space.
Where to find it: Enter through the carpark and walkway at 28 Racecourse Parade, Avondale, and follow the sound of laughter!

This new nature play space is a small but exciting step in the wider urban regeneration of Avondale, made possible through investment by Eke Panuku and Auckland Council.
This nature play space marks the beginning of Council’s broader plan for a larger, connected playground experience that’ll connect with Te Hono and spark even more adventure.

Together with Te Hono – Avondale’s new library, community hub, and upgraded town square - we're creating a town centre where people of all ages can meet, gather, learn and play.
Big fun starts small - so bring the tamariki and check it out.
