Developing the Wiri healthy neighbourhood

  • Manukau
  • In Progress

Wiri residents will benefit from better health services that foster healthy living.

Wiri will become a place where people can live in healthy homes and in safe neighbourhoods with good schools.

The Wiri neighbourhood lies to the south of State Highway 20.

This move includes:

  • Increasing housing supply and choice. Over time, Housing New Zealand homes will be replaced, creating more new places to live in their stead, as well as 1000 new homes on the Manukau Super Clinic site.

  • Up to 400 affordable homes are underway at the Barrowcliffe site, as part of the new urban neighbourhood that we’re planning.

  • Creating a new wetland domain, along with new-and-improved open spaces along Puhinui Stream.
