X marks the dot...
A series of colourful dots have been dotted around Panmure, to connect people with Maungarei - Mt Wellington and Kaiahiku - the Panmure Basin.
Keep an eye out in Panmure for a series of colourful dots connecting people with Maungarei - Mt Wellington and Kaiahiku - the Panmure Basin.
This short-term placemaking project is part of the work we’re doing to regenerate Panmure, to enhance it as a great place to live, visit and do business. It’s about connecting people with some of the things that make Panmure so special, whether that be walking around Te Kōpua Kai a Hiku - Panmure Basin, having fun on the newly upgraded skatepark, or checking out the epic views of both the Waitematā and Manukau harbours from the top of Maungarei – Mt Wellington.
These dots are also point towards future improved conections for Panmure. The proposed Maungarei approach is one such connection (see below).

Panmure is a vibrant and diverse place, renowned for its wonderful natural features and cherished for its role in bringing together the people of Tāmaki. It is a place of life and energy, and a place of deep cultural significance. We’ve been working with the community and local stakeholders on creating the Panmure Masterplan, a way to redevelop the Panmure town centre over the next ten-years.
The Panmure Masterplan (and associated investment programme) builds on this richness along with the importance of Panmure as one of Tamaki’s best-connected centres. The Masterplan envisages that Panmure will once again be at the heart of a thriving Tāmaki community and be a location of choice for Aucklanders looking for a great place to live, work and play.
